Some fresh updates from Tsering in #Spiti, in the upper #Himalayas...
One from last night, when the road was blocked with walls of snow just outside Kaza. And the other from this glorious day, today!
The skies a glorious blue. The mountains, a sweeping cascade of vanilla. Both forming the perfect yin and yang. But beautiful as it is, Spiti is biting cold at the moment. Miserably cold, in fact. Despite that, the lovely guruji from #KazaMonastery called to wish me a Happy #Holi. Made me realize the stark contrasts this country throws at us. On one side, people are celebrating Holi, the festival of color and water. It marks the official onset of the summer, as people soak one another is buckets of water. And then there are places like Spiti, where the sub zero temperatures make it impossible to even have water without melting the ice first! What we can all celebrate together today, and everyday however is our diversity. And that we are blessed with the Himalayas :)
